WATERIDGE VILLAGE
About Wateridge
This section of our website is design to provide information about the community as well as answers to common we receive as an association.
Construction of Wateridge Village first began around 2017, when Canada Lands Company began construction of the new urban neighbourhood on the site of the former CFB Rockcliffe air force base in Ottawa just 6km east of parliament hill.
The new urban neighbourhood features an extensive system of parks, multi-use pathways, cycling tracks and sidewalks as well as a wide variety of housing types including multiple sizes of apartments, stacked townhomes, townhomes, semi and single detached homes. Homes can be found both for sale and for rental in both affordable and market rate categories. The wide-variety of homes have been constructed by nine different home builders to date.
In addition to residential properties, Wateridge is designed to be a 15-minute neighbourhood. It contains many mixed-use zoned parcels of land allowing for the development of commercial uses, often on the ground floor of larger building. There is also an employment area along the eastern border of the community supporting a variety of uses including offices, laboratories, and stores. Land parcels have also be allocated to elementary schools.
